Kia ora! My name is Riona, otherwise known as ‘The Irish Psychologist!” I’ve been very lucky to work alongside people in the Taupō community since 2009, and as a Registered Psychologist since 2014 in a number of settings including schools and clinics. As a Psychologist, part of my role is to support people to look at patterns of thinking and behaviour that might not be working well for them, and to work alongside them to develop more helpful patterns and skills. I really believe that these skills are helpful for all of us to learn and it’s especially exciting to work alongside young people who can carry these skills forward to all areas of their lives. Although sessions have the opportunity to be skills focused, they are also client-focused and flexible to work with any presenting concerns that arise.

At home, I enjoy going on bush walk adventures with my two young children, swimming in the lake, running with our dog and reading.
